Conditions of Tenancy
Your Tenancy
Your Tenancy Agreement is a legal document and explains your and our rights and responsibilities for renting your home from us.
When you sign your tenancy agreement you will be entering into a contract with us agreeing to keep to the conditions set out.
It is important that you understand what these conditions are because if you break them, you could lose your home.
The conditions include the following areas:-
- Our responsibilities
- Paying your rent
- Using your home
- Making changes to your tenancy
- Ending your tenancy
- Repairs and alterations
- When we can charge you for repairs
- Anti - social behaviour
A review of the Basildon Council Tenancy Agreement was completed recently.
A copy of the new Tenancy Agreement containing revised conditions was sent to all our customers on 7th April 2008.
We have tried to make the tenancy conditions easy to understand, but if you have any questions, please contact your local Area Housing Office who can advise you.
