Tenant Rent and Service Charges
Your Rent
Your rent is due every Monday for the week ahead and includes amounts charged for water, heating, hot water, insurance and service charges.
Quarterly Statement of your rent account.
St Georges will send you a quarterly rent statement.
You can also register to see your rent balance 'on line'.
Register now to see all transactions on your rent account for the last 90 days!, and/or... check the status of any outstanding repairs you have requested!
Service Charges
These are charges included in your total rent, which are payable to us and can include charges for:-
- flat block caretaking/cleaning
- communal lighting to your flat block
and if you live in sheltered housing your services charges could also include:-
- providing a scheme co-ordinator (warden)
- providing alarm linked services
- maintaining the common room and laundry facilities
- Basildon Careline Services
What happens if I have problems paying my rent??
If you have a genuine problem paying your rent it is best not to wait until you receive a reminder.
Your tenancy could be at risk if you do not keep up your rent payments, but help and advice on how to avoid or reduce rent arrears is available, just contact your local Area Housing Office.
Help for those on a low income
If you are unemployed or on a low income (including a pension), you may be able to get Housing Benefit to help you to pay your rent.

It is not normally possible to backdate benefit so please do submit your Housing Benefit claim as soon as possible.
