Our Service Excellence Awards
St Georges Community Housing holds the
Centre for Sheltered Housing Studies Award
in recognition of its excellent Sheltered Housing Services provision.
On re-assessment in 2006 the CSHS Assessor indicated several areas where St Georges can still make improvements in its Sheltered Housing service provision for 2007:-
Reviewing cleaning and alarm services to our Sheltered Housing Schemes
Looking at the Value for Money of services provided and levels of charges to customers
Improving customer profile information and addressing any needs not met
Improving customer feedback on services provided by Sheltered Scheme Co-ordinators
All the above actions are now part of St Georges Continuous Improvement Plan for 2007.
St Georges Community Housing holds the
CharterMark Award in recognition of
its excellent customer service for provision.
On reassessment in October 2007 the external Chartermark Assessor commented that:-
"Our staff continue to demonstrate Commitment and Enthusiasm and were empowered to deal with customer problems.”.
"Our Repair Partnership is cost effective and seamless for customers.”.
“Our new Voids Contract based on an Open Book approach was delivering benefits to the customers, whilst reducing costs.".
"All our Service Partners work closely with us and directly involve customers.”.
“Our Tenants Resource Centre provides an excellent focus for customer involvement.”.
“St Georges is a superb top flight organisation with a standard of excellence that others would envy and it is clear the organisation has improved on the last accreditation.”.
The Assessor also gave us some areas where we can still make improvements in 2008:-
Service Delivery Partnerships are effective however some Service Delivery Areas require more formal arrangements. As a result the service delivery areas in question are reviewing their arrangements.
We do not ask customers if they have been treated fairly and equally. As a result we now ask this question in all our Customer Surveys however comprehensive results of these questions were not available at the time of re-inspection. These results will be available by the time of re-inspection.
We do not monitor and learn from the positive outcomes of our full range of Community based activities. As a result we are developing evaluation methods to measure the success of activities we support.
St Georges Community Housing is committed to investing in its staff and has the Investor in People Accreditation (IIP) as part of a Basildon Council assessment in December 2006.
As a new business set up from 2 April 2007 we will be visited by the IPP Assessment Network after 6 months and a programme of reassessment will be agreed.
St Georges Community Housing follows the principles of Investors in People by:-
Involving staff in Service Planning and getting their views on service provision
Proving Customer Service, Equality & Diversity training for staff
Supporting Staff in their personal qualification, skills and knowledge development
Regularly reviewing work performance through appraisal
Empowering staff to make decisions and resolve any customer problems
Encouraging staff to make service improvement suggestions
