Your Community, your voice.
St Georges is constantly looking for new ways to involve our customers from all sections of the community including different cultures, backgrounds, disabilities, beliefs, age or gender.
If you are interested in being part of, or setting up, a group that could become involved, please contact our Tenant Participation Team.
As part of the 'Your Community, your voice' initiative the Ethnic Minorities Thursday Club now meets regularly in the Tenants Resource Centre.
Ethnic Minorities Friday Club
Every Friday afternoon a group of residents from different ethnic backgrounds meet at the Hive at Barleylands Craft Village. Members socialise, and exchange community information and take part in craft activities.
These have included flower arranging, card making, pottery and quilt making.
The group have also played bingo, watched videos and visited Lake Meadows for a picnic.
They have received benefits advice from an expert and learnt basic computer skills.
Group members The group are encouraged to discover services available to them nationally,
locally, through St Georges Community Housing, Basildon Council and the voluntary sector.
Events are planned in advance and we will always welcome new members with new ideas. |
