Smoke Alarms
Tenants are to get smoke alarms fitted free of charge.
In a joint venture with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, St Georges Community Housing will fit smoke alarms free of charge in all its rented homes.
The smoke alarms require no maintenance and have a ten-year life cycle.
The alarms will be installed either by ALHCO or the Essex County Fire & Rescue Service.
Tenants can expect to have their free smoke alarms fitted as follows:
 | A representative from our contractor parGAS will fit the required number
of smoke detector alarms in your home when you next have your gas
central heating system serviced. | |

 | Alternatively, Essex County Fire & Rescue Service can fit the alarm.
They can also carry out a ‘free’ Fire & Safety Inspection of your home.
