How the Careline alarm system works...

Careline - get help at the touch of a button.Once the Careline alarm system has been installed in your home it can be activated using a pendant which is worn round your neck, clipped onto a belt, or worn on the wrist like a watch.

In the event of an emergency you can easily activate the alarm which will alert our 24 hour Control Centre in around 30-40 seconds.

Our Control Centre is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year. There is always someone there to answer your call.

Our trained staff will assess your situation then offer advice and take action to help you. If necessary they will immediately alert emergency services, doctors, wardens, relatives or other designated persons.



The two kinds of alarm service: Monitoring Only and Monitoring & Response.

Monitoring Only service; (available in Basildon, Rochford and Castle Point Districts).
The Monitoring Only service requires you to designate three emergency contacts.

These contacts will need to be key holders who will be allowed to enter your home in the event of an emergency.

In the event of an emergency Careline staff will automatically call the emergency services and one of the emergency key holders, who will give the emergency services access to the property.

Monitoring & Response service; (available in Basildon District).
The Monitoring & Response service requires the Careline client to designate three emergency contacts.

These contacts will need to be keyholders and have access to your home.

In the event of an emergency, if we are unable to contact any of the designated keyholders, a member of the Careline staff will attend your home to give the emergency services access to the property.

For this to work Careline need to have access to a key which must be located securely outside the property, or in a keysafe.



Installing a Careline Alarm.

Basildon Careline provides all of the required equipment and can generally install an alarm within 24 hours of receiving your application.

We will fully install the equipment of your choice; all you will need is a modern push in telephone socket and a 3-pin power socket nearby.


The system will be demonstrated to you in your home and we will always try to include your relatives, to make sure everyone knows what is involved.

We will make sure you understand what our obligations are to you and what you need to do to make the system work.

We can arrange to give you a demonstration of the alarm equipment in your home. If you decide you want the equipment we can install it there and then... and take care of all the paperwork as well!



Technical requirements.

The only technical requirement is that there must be a plug socket available within two metres (approximately six feet) of the telephone socket. However, if you cannot meet this requirement, but are still interested in the service, please contact us and we can discuss other options with you.
